Svatovavřinecké 2023 from Vinařství Thaya in Znojmo is a dry Moravian red from the Svatovavřinecké grape variety, 0.75 l bottle, fermented in steel with a short stay in old oak.
On the nose, cherry, damson plum and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, juicy, medium soft tannins, noticeable acidity, a light wine for everyday dinners, not for years of cellaring. Brief oak contact rounds out the structure without adding an oaky overlay.
Open it with roast pork loin with marjoram, stuffed cabbage rolls in tomato sauce, a board of game charcuterie, and meat dumplings.
Thaya runs its vineyard organically near Znojmo.
