Rizling Vlašský 2022 from the Kanich winery in Pezinok is a Slovak dry white from the Malé Karpaty appellation, 0.75 l bottle.

On the nose, Granny Smith green apple, freshly broken lemon zest and a slightly grassy nettle note. On the palate, taut and flinty, lively acidity, medium-long finish with a bitter almond end typical of this grape variety in the Malé Karpaty.

Open with herring in linseed oil with chives, grilled trout with dill or young goat's cheese on toast.

Kanich works in narrow parcels from vineyards below Mount Veľká homola; this vintage is around 1,800 bottles from younger vines.
