Alibernet 2021
Description
Alibernet 2021 from the Kanich winery in Pezinok is a Slovak dry red from the Alibernet grape variety, a cross of Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon, Malé Karpaty appellation, 0.75 l bottle.
On the nose, dark cherry, dried plum and a hint of printing ink, characteristic of a teinturier of this class. On the palate, dense and dark, deep purple colour, firm but ripe tannins, calm acidity, long finish with a bitter chocolate note.
Serve with beef goulash with peppers, game in juniper sauce or aged Manchego-style cheese.
Alibernet is naturally dark; Kanich does not shorten maceration after five days, to preserve fruit freshness and avoid extracting extra tannins.
