Description
Supremus S4 Merlot 2023 from Vinařství Václav in Hustopeče is a Moravian dry red from the Velkopavlovická appellation, 0.75 l bottle.
On the nose, black cherry, dried plum and a hint of cocoa in the background. On the palate, dense and dark, firm but ripe tannins, gentle acidity, long finish with a note of dried tobacco leaf from twelve months in barrel.
Serve with grilled beef ribs, game in juniper sauce, or mature cheddar.
Václav's Supremus line consists of wines aged in new barrels; the number S4 denotes the fourth vintage series of this grape variety from the vineyards in Kurdějově.
