Magister Pinot Gris 2023 from Vinařství Václav in Hustopeče is a Moravian dry white from the Velkopavlovická appellation, 0.75 l bottle.
On the nose, conference pear, orange zest and beeswax. On the palate, round and rich with the slightly oily texture characteristic of Pinot Gris from the warmer parts of Morawy, gentle acidity, long nutty finish.
Serve with roast pork loin with apples, pumpkin and sage pierogi, or mature Gouda.
Václav grows this Pinot Gris in a warmer valley below Kurdějovem; the Magister line consists of limited hand-selected cuvées.
