Bukovský Frankovka 2021

Frankovka 2021 from the Bukovský winery is a Moravian dry red from the Velkopavlovická appellation below the village of Kobylí, bottled in 0.75 l.

On the nose: cherry, blackcurrant and a hint of dried marjoram in the background. On the palate: juicy, with medium-density tannins; the acidity typical of Frankovka keeps the wine in good shape even after an hour in the glass; the finish is spicy with a note of black pepper.

Serve with roast pork neck in red wine sauce, cabbage rolls with tomatoes, or beef tartare with capers.

Bukovský ages Frankovka briefly in an older 500-litre barrel so that the oak does not mask the character of the grape variety.
