Description
Omšové 2023 from vineyards in the Slovak part of the Tokaj region is a dry white, a blend of Furmint and Lipovina, 0.75 l bottle.
On the nose yellow apple, linden blossom and a hint of flint. On the palate taut and mineral, sharp acidity, long finish with a bitter almond ending typical of Furmint on volcanic soil.
Goes with cod fillet in lemon sauce, pierogi with white cheese and chives or goat cheese with thyme.
Omšové is the historic name for Tokaj mass wine; in the dry class it shows the structural skeleton of the vintage without sweet masking.
