Rulandské modré výběr z hroznů 2018 from the Šalša vineyards below Kyjov is a Moravian dry red from the Rulandské modré (Pinot Noir) grape variety, 'výběr z hroznů' category, Slovácká appellation, 0.75 l bottle.

On the nose: cherry, dried wild strawberry and forest floor; six years in bottle have given the Pinot time to develop tertiary aromas. On the palate: soft tannins, acidity drives a long, mushroomy finish. A classic Burgundian profile, in a Moravian version.

Pairs with roast duck with red cabbage, mushroom goulash and Comté cheese.

Šalša holds back older Pinots as a reserve; the 2018 vintage is the last cases from the cellar.
