On the nose: black cherry, blackberry and a hint of cocoa with nutmeg. On the palate: full-bodied, ripe, angular tannins, acidity holds the structure, long peppery finish; Laurot is a Czech cross-bred grape variety producing darker, deeper reds than Svatovavřinecké.

Serve with roast duck with porcini mushrooms, game and mature Gouda with blackcurrant compote.

Šalša bottles Laurot in smaller batches, the wine benefits from extended oak ageing.
