Description
Varietal Frankovka 2022 from Vino Hruška in Blatnička is a Moravian dry red from the Slovácká appellation, in the 'Varietal' version, i.e. a pure grape variety without barrel ageing, 0.75 l bottle.
On the nose, pitted cherry, blackcurrant and a hint of Tellicherry pepper. On the palate, juicy, tannins medium and soft, acidity typical of Frankovka keeps the glass light, it doesn't tire you after a second glass.
It goes with roast pork loin with marjoram, stuffed cabbage rolls in tomato sauce or a board of game charcuterie.
Hruška brings this line in at under PLN 30 net, which makes it an everyday item on the shelf, not a special-occasion wine.
