Fresh Hibernal 2023

Fresh Hibernal 2023 from Vino Hruška of Blatnička is a Moravian semi-dry white from the Slovácká appellation, 0.75 l bottle, a young line from the winery at an everyday price.

On the nose, gooseberry, white grapefruit and a blackcurrant leaf. On the palate, lively, with a touch of residual sugar hidden behind the acidity; the finish is long, herbal, with a note of lemon zest and a slightly saline aftertaste.

It works with goat's cheese with honey on toast, grilled white fish with dill or a mild Thai chicken curry.

Hibernal is resistant to fungal diseases, so Hruška grows it in a programme with minimal spraying and a low dose of sulphur in the bottle.
