On the nose, blackcurrant, dried herbs and a touch of bay leaf. On the palate, fleshy, medium tannins, well rounded two years after harvest; calm acidity, long finish with a hint of cedar wood and dried plum.

Serve with roast pork neck with garlic, braised lamb with rosemary or a mature manchego-style cheese.

Uherek leaves this grape variety for 12 months in older 500-litre barrels, so the wood adds structure without masking the fruit note.
