Kapka Wina in Żywiec is the place the local wine scene had simply been missing – and one that immediately won the recognition of customers. Located at ul. Rynek 16, in the very heart of the town, it draws you in with its appearance alone, and once inside it wins you over with its pleasant atmosphere and the service guests write about with genuine fondness. Mrs Patrycja is sometimes called a treasure here – she is kind, cheerful and always shares a wealth of knowledge about each of the wines. This is one of those places you happily return to.
The range is impressive: a large selection of wines, among which customers particularly appreciate those with a deep ruby colour, a complex, multi-layered aroma of ripe dark fruits interwoven with notes of spice, leather and tobacco. Wines can be bought by the bottle, or ordered by the glass – and with that glass you can step out onto the market square, take a seat on the benches in front of the shop and admire Żywiec. As guests write: the wine is good, and relatively inexpensive.

The aroma of these wines is exceptionally rich and multi-layered. Notes of ripe dark fruits dominate, harmoniously interwoven with subtle accents of spice, leather, tobacco and delicate floral notes. With time, after aeration, nuances of herbs and forest also become noticeable. On the palate, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2016 delights with its fullness and elegance. It is a wine of medium to full body, with perfectly integrated tannins that give it a velvety texture. Flavours of ripe fruit give way to more piquant tones of pepper and herbs, creating a complex, long-lasting finish. The acidity is perfectly balanced, which makes the wine fresh yet at the same time rich and deep. Excellent coffee from a local roastery. A delicious selection of cheeses served alongside the wine. You can buy wine by the bottle but also order wine by the glass. There are seats inside, but you can also take your glass out onto the market square, onto a bench, to admire Żywiec and people-watch those passing by ;) The whole affair is inexpensive.
